Minister Cornelia Kruah Calls for Stronger Diaspora Partnership in Advancing Liberia’s Youth and Sports Agenda

Minister of Youth and Sports, Atty. Cornelia Kruah held discussions with the Consul General and staff, alongside with the Executive Director of the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota, to share updates on the Ministry’s ongoing programs and strategic priorities.

Minister Kruah provided a comprehensive overview of the work undertaken by the Ministry since she assumed office. She highlighted the Government of Liberia’s commitment to empowering young people through strategic investments in education, skills development, sports, leadership, and social inclusion.

Among the key initiatives discussed were the construction and rehabilitation of youth centers across Liberia. These facilities are intended to provide safe and accessible spaces for learning, recreation, leadership development, and community engagement.

The Minister also emphasized the expansion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs designed to equip young Liberians with practical and marketable skills. These programs aim to improve employment prospects, encourage entrepreneurship, and prepare young people to contribute meaningfully to Liberia’s economic and social development.

The Consul General welcomed Minister Kruah’s visit and commended her dedication to expanding opportunities for Liberia’s youth. Consul General Grigsby also reaffirmed her commitment to facilitating partnerships between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and organizations within the Liberian community in Minnesota.

These partnerships will support initiatives that positively impact young people in Liberia while strengthening connections and opportunities within the Liberian diaspora.
