Executive Director of the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota Pays Courtesy Visit to Consul General to Discuss Consular Services.

Minneapolis, Minnesota – The Executive Director of the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota (OLM), Mr. Kamaty Diahn, on Wednesday, February 25, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Consul General to discuss the provision of consular services for the Liberian community in Minnesota and the broader Midwest region.

The Consul General warmly welcomed the OLM Executive Director and informed him about the presence of the Diplomatic team. She emphasized her commitment to strengthen collaboration between the Consulate and the diaspora, while exploring practical pathways to provide accessible, efficient, and timely consular services to Liberians. The meeting focused on key services, including passport processing, visa issuance, authentication of documents, and other essential consular support that directly benefit the Community.

During the discussion, Mr. Diahn highlighted the growing Liberian population across the region and underscored the increasing need for consular services. He noted that the absence of these services has imposed financial and logistical burden on citizens who must travel out of State to obtain such services. He further stated that restoring Consular Services within the community would deepen engagement with the Government of Liberia and strengthen ties between Liberia and its diaspora.

The Consul General expressed appreciation for the leadership of OLM and commended the Executive Director for his continued advocacy on behalf of the community. She reaffirmed that the Consulate’s presence in Minnesota is a direct response to the needs of Liberian citizens and emphasized that consultations and collaboration remain essential. She also provided overview of services that will be offered as the Consulate prepares to commence operations.
